The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL proposed by Cllr. Bunyan, seconded by Cllr. Hatcher and agreed on condition that the roof pitch is reduced to 30 degrees to reduce the impact on the existing dwelling.

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reasons:

  • Scale and dominance
  • Highway Safety – Access and egress should be in forward gear
  • Effect on trees – disturbance of roots
  • No proposed block plan showing proposed siting

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reasons:

  • Over intensive use of site
  • Lack of non-selective secondary school
  • Concern regarding utility companies
  • Limited access
  • No parking with new dwelling which will mean the occupants using the Tanyard Car Park which is already at breaking point

If Tunbridge Wells Borough Council are mindful to approve this application, Cranbrook & Sissinghurst Parish Council would prefer it to be built to passivhaus standard.

An email had been received regarding the naming of the new village hall in Sissinghurst.  Cllr. Bunyan agreed to contact the Trustees of St. George’s Institute for their views on the matter.

 ITEMS FOR INFORMATION:

  1. a) Hatcher reported that he had responded on behalf of Cranbrook and Sissinghurst Parish Council to the Headcorn Neighbourhood Plan Consultation.
  2. b) The Committee confirmed that the Parish Council had whole heartedly supported the Cranbrook and Sissinghurst Neighbourhood Plan. Hatcher agreed to contact the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the NDP Committee, regarding producing positive advertising for the forthcoming NDP Poll.
