Cllr. Hatcher informed the Committee that he had been contacted by the owner of Cloudberry for advice.

Ground floor extension with glazed link.

The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL, subject to the views of the Conservation Architect.

Proposed by Cllr. Kings, seconded by Cllr. Gilbert and agreed.

20/01268/FULL & 20/01269/LBC

The Cloudberry, Stone Street, Cranbrook, Kent, TN17 3HE.

Erection of an external staircase from the courtyard at the rear of the building to the first floor; replacement of original sash window with new doorway.

The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL, subject to the views of the Conservation Architect.

Proposed by Cllr. Gilbert, seconded by Cllr. Kings and agreed. Voting: 3 in favour, 1 against, 1 abstention.

20/01905/FULL

Electricity Distribution Site, Glassenbury Road, Cranbrook, Kent,

Minor Material Amendment in relation to 20/00389/FULL – rearrangement of layout relating to 3

no. batteries and additional associated infrastructure in the southwest section of the site, including the introduction of five separate sections of fire wall at 3.9 m in height.

The Parish Council gave a NEUTRAL recommendation.

Proposed by Cllr. Hall, seconded by Cllr. Bunyan and agreed.

20/01991/FULL

Land Adjacent Frisco Cottage, Hawkhurst Road, Cranbrook, Kent

Erection of 2no. detached three bedroom dwellings with the provision of associated access, parking, amenity, landscaping and bio-diverse enhancements.

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reasons:

  • The site is outside the Limits to Build Development and within the AONB
  • Lack of master planning with adjacent sites
  • Damage to gateway openness and historical assets damaged
  • Does not sustain and enhance nearby listed buildings
  • Pedestrian access dangerous
  • Potentially contaminated land
  • Infilling

PLANNING APPEAL NOTIFICATION:

19/02170/OUT

Land Adjacent to Hartley Gate Farmhouse Hartley Road Cranbrook

Outline (Appearance, Landscaping, Layout and Scale Reserved) – Erection of up to 27 dwellings,

with associated access, parking and landscaping.

The Committee noted that this appeal would be determined on the basis of a Public Inquiry the venue and time to be confirmed.  It was agreed that a representative of the Parish Council should attend and give evidence.

The Committee also strongly endorsed the views of Kent County Council, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council Landscape Officer and the concerns raised by neighbours. 

The Parish Council had recommended REFUSAL, however agreed to add additional reasons as follows:

Members did not object in principle to development on the site but want to see a masterplan designed for the area.

TREES:

Filwood, Angley Road, Cranbrook

Cllr. Bunyan informed the meeting that Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s Tree Officer, had applied to have Tree Preservation Orders on several trees at the above property.

DECISIONS: 

The Clerk read out the decisions made by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.

Cllr. Fermor informed the meeting that she had been approached by a resident to apply for a TPO in Sissinghurst.
