Cllr. Bunyan declared an interest regarding application 21/02046/FULL as they were close neighbours and she would take part in the discussion but would not vote.

PLANNING APPLICATIONS:

21/02046/FULL

Little Lested, Spongs Lane, Sissinghurst, Cranbrook, Kent.  TN17 2AH

Two storey side, front and rear extension with single storey front extension; Amendments to fenestration and external finishes with construction of rear, front and side facing dormers; Construction of garage.

The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL proposed by Cllr. Hatcher, seconded by Cllr. Gilbert and agreed.  However, concern was expressed regarding the height of the extension as it is not subservient to the host building.  The Committee also commented regarding the lack of natural light in the snug/study due to lack of windows.

New vehicular access.

The Parish Council remained NEUTRAL and agreed to leave this decision to the discretion of KCC Highways.

Demolition of existing conservatory. Proposed two storey side extension.  Two storey and single storey rear extension. With internal alterations.

The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL proposed by Cllr. Kings, seconded by Cllr. Bunyan and agreed.

Proposed side and rear 2 storey extension, plus loft conversion extension.

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reason:

  • Concern expressed regarding lack of parking details.

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reason:

Demolition of existing Atcost building; proposed conversion and extension of existing Dairy building into residential dwelling, together with associated garage and landscaping.  

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reason:

  • Does not meet local housing need would prefer to see two dwellings.

Jaeger Field Cranbrook School Angley Road Cranbrook Kent

Outline planning application (Access not reserved) – residential scheme for up to 63 residential dwellings and associated access, car parking, open space and landscaping.

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reasons:

  • Scale and Dominance
  • Within AONB Area
  • Would prefer 1/2/3 bed properties
  • The design should refer to Cranbrook and Sissinghurst Parish Council Eco Design Guide/ NDP Design Guide/High Weald AONB Design Guide
  • Insufficient buffer zone between development and Angley Road/Oatfield Drive and requires more trees/wildlife planting
  • Improved pedestrian access to the Town Centre
  • Concern was expressed regarding the access and increased traffic on to Angley Road
  • Drainage and flood risk
  • Impact on the community and other services – concern was expressed regarding the loss of the sports playing field which is currently used by several local sports clubs (if not the school)

If the application is approved all the Parish Council’s concerns need to be addressed.  Also, Section 106 money should be directed to projects in Cranbrook and Sissinghurst Parish.

The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL proposed by Cllr. Bunyan, seconded by Cllr. Gilbert and agreed.

Proposed change of use, conversion and extension of 2No. barns into 2No. detached holiday let accommodation units, together with the siting of 2No. shepherds huts on land associated with the barns – to be operated and managed in conjunction with the Three Chimneys Pub and Restaurant business.

No further comments to add.

21/00910/FULL 

White Horse Inn High Street Cranbrook Kent TN17 3EX

Erection of 2No. 2 bed semi-detached dwellings (Use C3) on the land to the rear of the public house (Sui Generis), creation of a vehicular access off Rectory Lane with associated hard and soft landscaping.  

Members had previously agreed to REFUSE this application and comments already forwarded still apply.  However, concern was expressed regarding the adverse effect this development will have on Rectory Lane, which is unadopted.  Also, the pedestrian access between Rectory Lane and the Public House should be removed as this could encourage anti-social behaviour.  The car barn has not been detailed on the planning application.
