CRANBROOK & SISSINGHURST PARISH COUNCIL MINUTES OF THE PLANNING & PRESERVATION COMMITTEE HELD ON 5TH JANUARY 2021

Cllr. Fermor reported that she was a neighbour of Pound House and although she would take part in discussion she would not vote on this application.

Hazlehurst Cottage, The Street, Sissinghurst, Cranbrook, Kent.  TN17 2JJ

Listed Building Consent: Internal alterations and external alterations including additional/replacement

Roof lights and windows.

The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL proposed by Cllr. Bunyan, seconded by Cllr. Smith and agreed.  The Planning Committee would like to see the roof light on the cat-slide roof made smaller so that the rafters do not need cutting.

Pound House, Wilsley Pound, Sissinghurst, Cranbrook, Kent.  TN17 2HR

Installation of a pair of timber entrance gates with timber posts on the boundary of the property, to replace existing gates in same location.

The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL proposed by Cllr. Smith seconded by Cllr. Bunyan and agreed on condition that the new gates open inwards.

Demolition of existing attached garage and erection of two new 3 bed semi-detached houses.

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reasons:

  • Over intensive use of site
  • Out of keeping with neighbouring properties
  • Limited parking for existing property
  • Back garden development
  • Streetscape not included with planning application

Proposed single storey extension to rear, alterations to fenestration & removal of existing additions.

The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL proposed by Cllr. Gilbert, seconded by Cllr. Bunyan and agreed.

Demolition of existing outbuilding; installation of a pre-formed swimming pool, 11 x 4 metres, with a constant depth 1.2 metres to the rear garden of Tambour House; associated landscaping works. 

The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL proposed by Cllr. Kings, seconded by Cllr. Smith and agreed.  Any soil removal from the site should take place within normal working hours.

Listed Building Consent: Construction of internal light weight timber stud corridor wall at first floor; Construction of internal lightweight timber stud dividing wall between enhanced bathroom and bedroom; Construction of shower cubicle in bathroom; Replace collapsed roof and walls of external detached Outhouse reusing existing materials (Works Commenced).

The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL proposed by Cllr. Hatcher, seconded by Cllr. Fermor and agreed subject to the views of the Conservation Architect.

The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL proposed by Cllr. Fermor, seconded by Cllr. Hatcher and agreed.  The Committee highlighted the fact that this site would be ideal for passive house standard development.

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL proposed by Cllr. Hatcher, seconded by Cllr. Smith and agreed for the following reasons:

The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL proposed by Cllr. Fermor, seconded by Cllr. Bunyan and agreed.
