MINUTES OF THE PLANNING & PRESERVATION COMMITTEE

HELD ON 7TH JUNE 2022

Declaration of Interests, Dispensations and Predetermination:

PLANNING APPLICATIONS:

22/01325/FULL

22 Hovendens, Sissinghurst, Cranbrook, Kent, TN17 2LA

Demolition of existing conservatory, erection of two storey side extension to replace it.

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reasons:

  • Insufficient Parking
  • Consideration should be given to providing ensuite/second bathroom
  • Insufficient details on plan

Proposed by Cllr. Gilbert, seconded by Cllr. Bunyan and agreed with one abstention.

1 The Meads, Cranbrook, Kent TN17 3QB

Demolition of existing garage, erection of new 3 bedroom dwelling.

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reasons:

  • Insufficient Parking
  • Over development of site
  • Vehicles must be able to exit site in forward gear
  • Concerns were raised over alternative parking for No. 1 The Meads

Proposed by Cllr. Kings, seconded by Cllr. Hatcher and agreed

PLANNING APPEALS:

21/02908/FULL

Glen Cove The Common Sissinghurst Cranbrook Kent TN17 2AJ

New 3 bed single storey dwelling with associated parking and landscaping

As the Parish Council had approved this application it was agreed to forward the reasons it was recommended for approval as details below:

  • Passivhaus standard dwellings should be encouraged
  • Original approval was for 3 dwellings and only two have been built
  • Size of property meets local needs
  • Garage shop very close which provides for basic shopping needs
  • Bus stop nearby
  • Existing access onto Starvenden Lane
  • Brownfield site.

TWBC PLANNING DECISIONS:

The Clerk read out the decisions received from Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.

ITEMS FOR INFORMATION:

(a)  Cllr. Hatcher asked if a request could be made at Full Council for additional Councillors to join the Planning & Preservation Committee.

(b)  Cllr. Hatcher reported that at a recent CCAAC meeting members requested that the Parish Council are represented on large building sites – perhaps keeping a watching brief.
