The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL subject to the views of Tunbridge Wells Borough Council Conservation Officer for the following reasons:

  • Loss of valuable commercial space
  • No details of how the property has been marketed and the Parish Council believes that the owners have not met their obligations to explore all avenues before applying for change of use
  • The front garden boundaries are not in keeping with the surrounding properties and insufficient information has been supplied
  • No plans for existing 1st floor or basement level
  • No parking provided
  • This application is contrary to Cranbrook & Sissinghurst Parish Council Neighbourhood Development Plan Policy BE6.1 Business & Employment Space.

The Parish Council remained NEUTRAL proposed by Cllr. Gilbert, seconded by Cllr. Bunyan and agreed.  The Parish Council noted that it would be helpful for a summary in plain English.
