PLANNING APPLICATIONS:

23/00392/FULL

Brindles Tenterden Road Cranbrook Kent TN17 3PA

Replacement of prefabricated garage with two bay and two storey garage

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reasons:

  • Scale and dominance
  • Highway Safety – no on site turning
  • Effect on trees – disturbance of roots

Proposed by Cllr. Bunyan, seconded by Cllr. Gilbert and agreed.

Cranbrook Primary School Carriers Road Cranbrook Kent TN17 3JZ

Erection of single-storey timber framed outbuilding to provide a wellbeing hub

The Parish Council recommended APPROVAL proposed by Cllr. Hatcher, seconded by Cllr. Bunyan and agreed.   The Parish Council asked if Cranbrook Primary School could include pre school provision in any future plans.

The Marlings Turnden Road Cranbrook Kent TN17 2QL

Erection of 4 bedroom dwelling with garage amenity space and associated landscaping and parking.

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reasons:

  • In the AONB
  • Outside Limits to Build Development
  • Highway Safety – dangerous access on to A229
  • Little information given on proposed eco quality of building

Should TWBC be mindful to approve this application the garage amenity space should remain ancillary to the main property.  The Parish Council also suggest the roof on the front should be extended to afford solar protection during summer months.

  TREE APPLICATION:

23/00543/TPO

The Pest House Frythe Walk Cranbrook Kent TN17 3BD

Trees: Scots Pine (T1) – Reduce height by 2-3 meters and dead wood, Variegated Holly Tree (T2) – Reduce height by 2-3 meters.

Although the Parish Council have no objection to the above application it was agreed to leave the decision to TWBC Tree Officer.

CORRESPONDENCE:

  1. a) A request has been received for the Parish Council to include TWBC planning decisions in the minutes.

The Parish Council agreed to include TWBC decisions received in the minutes for a trial period of 3 months.

  1. b) Street Naming – Cranbrook Engineering Site

The Parish Council agreed to forward the following suggestions:

  • Wilkes Field
  • The Twittens
  • Mummery Court
  • White Lion Yard
  • Bulls Square
