The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reasons:

  • This application does not meet local need. It is a 3 or 4 bed flat and not as specified
  • Loss of commercial space
  • Lack of non selective secondary school in Cranbrook
  • No details regarding emergency access
  • No parking or cycle storage space
  • No space for waste bins
  • Concern with utility companies’ ability to supply

The Parish Council recommended REFUSAL for the following reasons:

  • No details of additional parking spaces
  • No mitigation for wildlife being next to Angley Woods
  • Concern regarding narrow lane and construction traffic
  • Concern with utility companies’ ability to supply
  • Lack of non selective secondary school in Cranbrook

If Tunbridge Wells Borough Council are minded to Approve this application it should be on condition that the annex remains ancillary to the main property.

 ITEMS FOR INFORMATION:

Cllr. Fletcher explained that a planning application (23/02067/FULL) for a solar farm would be discussed at the next Planning Meeting.  The applicant had extended an invitation for all Councillors to visit the site on Friday 22nd September 2023.  It was agreed to meet outside the Parish Council office at 9am and Cllr. Fletcher had offered to drive.

Cllr. Hatcher requested that the Cranbrook and Sissinghurst NDP should be circulated to the Planning Committee with the Agenda so that the contents are taken into consideration.
