Members of CRANBROOK & SISSINGHURST PARISH COUNCIL are summoned to attend a meeting of Cranbrook & Sissinghurst Parish Council in the Council Chambers, Cranbrook
on THURSDAY 18th MAY 2023 at 7.30 PM

  1. To elect a Chairman of the Council:
    1. To receive nominations and vote on appointment.
    2. To receive the Declaration of Acceptance of Office for the Chair of the Council.

  2. To receive any apologies for non-attendance


  1. Declaration of Interests, Dispensations and Predetermination:

Members are required to declare any interests, dispensations or predetermination on items on this agenda in accordance with the Council’s Code of Conduct.

Members are reminded that changes to the Register of Interests should be notified to the Clerk.


  1. To elect a Vice Chairman of the Council:
    To receive nominations and vote on appointment.


  1. To elect a Chairman of Policy & Resources:
    To receive nominations and vote on appointment.


  1. To resolve that absent Councillors may make their declaration at or before a later meeting


  1. To appoint of members to the following Committees, and elect Chairs:

  1. Confirmation of dates for next year’s Parish Council meetings:
    Propose 2nd Thursday of each month.


  1. To approve and sign as a correct record the minutes of the Full Council Meeting held 13 April 2023


  1. To review and approve Standing Orders, Financial Regulations and policy review schedule

Note: Suggested amendments to be submitted to the Clerk at least 48hrs before the meeting.


  1. To review and approve of Banking Arrangements

Propose that all Parish Council Bank accounts will continue to be held by HSBC and Lloyds. Variable direct debits would continue to be the payment method for items such as the business rates and BACS would be used for the payment of salaries and their associated costs.


  1. To review and make arrangements to reaffirm eligibility for the General Power of Competence: As Cranbrook & Sissinghurst Parish Council meets the eligibility criteria in terms of the Clerks qualifications and numbers of elected Councillors it is recommended that the Council resolves to exercise the General Power of Competence.
