Tunbridge Wells Borough Council revised opening hours at the Weald Information Centre

Weald Information Centre, Cranbrook

Following a review early in 2018 of the numbers of visitors and the types of enquiries the Council was receiving face to face at the Weald Information Centre in Cranbrook, we took the decision to reduce our opening hours with effect from 1 October. Over the past few years, the number of visitors to WIC has been declining significantly as more and more people are availing of the convenience of our online services, or choosing to contact us by phone, so it didn’t represent the best use of resources to have a full time presence at WIC when so few customers were actually coming through the doors.

Our new opening hours are:

1 January 2019 to 31 March 2019 – Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10am to 3pm

From 1 April 2019 – 30 September 2019 – we will be open for drop in visits on Fridays only from 10am to 3pm, and on Wednesdays we will see customers at WIC by pre-booked appointment. An appointment can be arranged by calling the Council’s Customer Service Team on 01892 526121.

From 1 October 2019 to 31 March 2020 – 1 day for appointments only.

From 1 April 2020 the Council will no longer provide a service at the Weald Information Centre and all customer enquiries will be triaged initially by phone and if an appointment is absolutely necessary, this will be arranged. It is anticipated that the new Cranbrook Hub will be operational by this time and will be an ideal location for face to face meetings. As we get closer to the date, we will keep you updated.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact Denise Shortall, Customer Service Manager, on 01892 554218 or denise.shortall@tunbridgewells.gov.uk
